Land of the Fey

Glossary of the Fey

Fey Races / Species

Lorikii – Most ancient of the two remaining fairy bloodlines. Smaller in stature than the robust goneril. The lorikii are still born with wings and have pointed ears.

Goneril – The aristocratic goneril although youngest of the many fey species have quickly risen to supremacy. Their wings have mutated into complicated skin markings on their back and arms – which when interpreted correctly denote the familial line. Their ears are still pointed and are something of an erogenous zone.

Forge Masters – A species as old as the lorikii. Believed to have partly descended from the dwarves – accounting for their superior ability to manipulate metal. Muscular, strong and physically imposing, they are somewhat emotionally reserved. Preferring to devote themselves to their craft rather than interact with other Fey. Forge Masters remain neutral in any conflict and supply weapons according to their geographical location. Born with small, vesitigial wings that are usually removed at birth. Unpointed ears.

Pixies – Short-lived species with a voracious sexual appetite. There are far fewer males than females. Females compete for the attention of males in leks. Pixie dust has many useful applications – the ability to open portals, to heal and to provoke sexual desire. Because of this they are protected by the royal court – in return the pixies supply the monarch with a fixed amount of pixie dust per year.

Other Races / Species

Ravens – A shape shifting warrior species that lives in the western lands. Feared by many as they have the ability to see the future. They have a complicated social structure which can appear brutal to outsiders. But they are fiercely loyal to those they consider family.

Mages – A subspecies of human born with magical gifts that may take a variety of forms. Depending on the socio-political situation at the time of their birth they could either be persecuted, revered or considered deluded.

Human – Non-magical, non-Fey being.
